Q&A With Official Designer

So far it has to be the one of a kind ford racer Graphic. When I saw the references to the design I doubted my capabilities of recreating something so different and intense. I’m glad I saw the design through to the end because it’s now my favorite board so far.
2. What was the hardest graphic to design so far?
Again I’ll have to reference the ford Graphic haha. Although I finished in the least amount of days of any graphic, I put in the most amount of hours into it.
3. How long have you been designing?
I would say collectively 7 years.
4. Why do you love graphic design?
I love GD because one it’s in the art field and ever since I was little I told everyone I was going to be an artist, and a decade later I am an artist! A graphic artist! There’s no one way to design and there are endless ways to make so many different styles of art. Whenever I start a new project a passion and desire overcomes me! I never get bored from my 6 plus clients because no two jobs are the same. And if I’ve never done something before, by the time the project is over I’ve learned a new skill.
5. What else are you looking forward to with 1004?
Learning new skills in terms of design and seeing what crazy new idea cousin kiki sends my way next! And also maybe meeting the rest of the team irl some day.
6. What is it like designing skateboards for a professional skateboarder?
There is Something new around every turn! I never know what to expect but I get excited every time I have to tackle the design projects I’m assigned. I never dread a project and I’m always happy to check one more thing off the list of cool designs coming 1004 skateboards way!
7. How do you use your time management skills while working for 1004 and your personal everyday life?
Kiki can definitely attest that if I don’t have a deadline that I project has the potential to never get done. 🤦🏽♀️ Whenever I do get going on a project I work until it’s done. It’s that passion to see a project to the end I was talking about earlier. I never bail on any of my clients or any project I have to do and that will never change. But with an event career change I will definitely look into getting into a client work schedule for sure.
